Magic the Gathering Club (MTG) is a strategy based trading card game. Our club's primary function is to teach students how to play this long-established game and enter the MTG community that is blooming at JA. We partner with Gaming Club to extend the playtime of MTG games; but our main focus is to provide a smaller, more accessible bar of entry for those who are curious how the game works or want to try their hand at it with no pressure before attempting at a game in the bigger club that Gaming Club is, with more experienced players. Students will flex their comprehensive reading skills, quick decision making and elements of game theory as they learn to play this fun, yet competitive card game during High School Lunch on Friday afternoons.
