Calendar for the week

SCHOOL NEWS:

JA One Survey - In an effort to continually improve, JA’s School Accountability Committee has developed this year's family survey to elicit feedback on how to make JA even better than it already is. The survey is completely anonymous, taking less than five minutes to complete, and at the conclusion, you will be redirected to a separate link where you can win up to $50 in spirit wear for yourself or your student just for taking the time to share your opinions.

Staff Dinner Donations - One of our traditions at JA is to provide dinner for the staff when they are at school late during Parent/Teacher Conferences. It's coming up on March 6th, and donations will help us put together a really nice dinner break in the midst of a long day. For the Fall Conferences, we asked our Junior High families to donate, so this time we're hoping for donations from High School families - this can be done via CheddarUp at https://hospitality-donations-41526.cheddarup.com, or drop off an envelope in the office indicating "Parent Teacher Conference Staff Dinner"   Thank you!

Fee Statements - updated fee statements were sent this week.  Everything should be up-to-date except HS Spring Sports, as it was not included.  A couple of reminders, the parking pass fee shows up on everybody’s account but is not required unless your student wants to park in the student lot.  Anything with OPT at the beginning is optional.  Seniors need to have all fees paid.  If you cannot find where to pay the fees, use this link for directions to pay them online: Course Fee Payment Guide.  If you have any questions about your fee statement, please reach out to  Craig Melville at cmelville@jajags.com.

Enrollment for 2025-2026 School Year - If you know that your student will not be returning to JA Secondary next year, please contact Anne Leoni at aleoni@jajags.com.  This information helps us plan our class sizes and enrollment for next year.

HEALTH:

Colorado law requires students who attend school to be vaccinated against many of the diseases vaccines can protect against, unless a Certificate of Exemption is filed. For more information, please read this letter: School Immunizations Requirements

Before a student’s first day of school, families are responsible for providing an up-to-date immunization record, an in-process plan, or a Certificate of Exemption to each school the student attends.

ACTIVITIES:

After-Prom Volunteers Needed - Are we really talking about Prom in February? Yes we are! Boosters is looking for a few parent volunteers to work at the event. Working the event entails supervising students during the event from 11:30 PM to 2AM at Bowlero right near the Westminster Promenade.

What is After-Prom? This event is open to ALL JA high school students, even underclassmen are welcome. The event is a required activity for all students who attend Prom. There is no extra cost for this event as it is included in your student’s Prom ticket. In the past, activities have included bowling, mini-golf, laser tag, and arcade games.

ATHLETICS:

Junior High Baseball - BASEBALL IS BACK!  Hello all 6th, 7th and 8th grade families. Are you interested in playing baseball for JA this season? Are you interested in building friendships that last a lifetime? Whether you have played baseball before on a club or are brand new to the sport, we would love to have you. We have had athletes of all different skill levels and experience with the goal to teach them how fun baseball can be and to build a program that leads to success in the High School Program. If you are interested in returning this season or are new to the program, we will have an informational night on Wednesday, February 19th at 4 pm in the Secondary Commons. Please come with any questions and I look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mr. Kirkley at nkirkley@jajags.com.

Online Ticket Sales for Home Games - For any and all home athletic events going forward, we will no longer accept cash or credit cards at the door. You must have a ticket on your phone or printed to enter. Metro passes and CHSAA passes will still be accepted. Students must have an activity pass sticker on their school ID in order to get in or they will be required to purchase a ticket. We will no longer have a list of student's names at the gate. Please encourage your student to stop by the office to get their sticker if they haven’t already done so. You can purchase your tickets here.
