Jeff Pierson

The Interim Principal of Jefferson Academy Secondary School is Jeff Pierson. Jeff is an experienced educational leader with nearly 31 years of leadership in K–12 education and school safety. He served Jefferson County Public Schools as Athletic Director and Principal over 10 years at Standley Lake High School. He was then appointed to the Director of Safe School Environments role and later served as Executive Director of the Department of School Safety over 8 years before retiring this past year. He led and was instrumental in districtwide initiatives focused on school safety, emergency preparedness, and student well-being.
Jeff earned his B.A. in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he played collegiate basketball, and his Master of Arts In Education from the University of Phoenix. He is passionate about creating safe, supportive learning environments and helping organizations build strong cultures centered on safety, leadership, and student success.

Marti Porreco

The Assistant Principal is Mrs. Marti Porreco. She is also the Activities Director for the Junior High and High Schools. Mrs. Porreco received her B.A. in Journalism and Telecommunication from the University of Wyoming. She earned her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix and earned her principal licensure through the Principal Institute LLC. Mrs. Porreco has been at JA since August 2005.

Dan Quaratino
Email Dan Quaratino
Dan Quaratino has been the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director for Jefferson Academy Secondary since 2023. The previous 16 years he served as Assistant Principal in both the high school and middle school settings. During this time as Assistant Principal he worked in various communities. Of those 16 years, 7 years also included Athletic Director. As Athletic Director Dan believes in benefiting those who they serve and building walking trophies. Dan is very excited and humbled to be working with the JA community.

Kyrie Adams
Email Kyrie Adams
Kyrie Adams is the Director of Student Support Services. Kyrie earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and taught in the greater DC area for many years before moving to Colorado. She earned her Master of Arts in School & Community Counseling at Denver Seminary, and joined the JA team in 2010 as the School Counselor. Kyrie was named to the Administrative team in 2020.
