SCHOOL NEWS
Thank you, parents and guardians, for your support and responsiveness to the power outage issue on Friday afternoon. When situations arise that require early dismissal, it is critical that we have accurate contact information for all parents and guardians on file for your student. Contact information is verified through the Annual Update in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you have not completed the Annual Update for this year, please do so now: Infinite Campus
SCHOOL TRAFFIC PATTERN REMINDERS: We want to make families aware that the lot directly east of the school is an active construction site. Students are not permitted to be inside the site and should not be dropped off or picked up within the entrance or exit area of the site. Please have a plan and spot identified with your student within a safe area for pick up and drop off.
Click HERE for the traffic pattern. If you would like to bypass the parking lot for drop-off and pickup, families may park along the street where there is a bike lane and no construction closures. Please do NOT use the parking lots of surrounding businesses as a meeting point (you could be ticketed). Follow the directions of the staff members in yellow vests outside, directing traffic and observe all traffic laws. Please practice patience in the first few days, understanding that we are all learning again.
Enter the parking lot ONLY at the four-way stop. Do not use the entrance close to the front of the school.
Please drive along and line up using the perimeter of the ENTIRE parking lot. This keeps our traffic from backing up onto 112th Ave.
We ask you to pull as far forward as you can (even past the front door or even past your student) when picking up or dropping off your student. This will allow traffic to queue in our parking lot rather than on the street.
Refrain from speeding past other cars in line or driving through student parking in order to escape the traffic. This endangers our students who walk as well as other cars who may be moving.
Students may be dropped off and picked up along any part of the sidewalk. They will be safe to walk a few more feet on the sidewalk to get to the front door.
PURCHASING A PARKING PERMIT: Any student who will be parking on Campus for the 2025-2026 school year, must have a valid parking permit displayed on their car. Permits are paid online through Infinite Campus and the parking form must be completed (both sides) and submitted to the main office during the first week of school. Mr. Melville will issue parking permits at lunch during the week of August 25th to the students who have completed the paperwork and paid. Students parking in the lot without a valid permit are subject to parking warnings and fines.
CANVAS PARENT ACCOUNTS: Canvas parent/guardian accounts for new students to JA Secondary are now active. If you have another student at JA and already have a Canvas account with them, your new student should appear in your Canvas observer account, provided the email in Infinite Campus matches.
If you are setting up a new account, go to the Canvas for Parents page on our website for help. You will need to set your password for the initial login by following the steps on this page.
UPCOMING COLLEGE VISITS: Regional Admissions Officers of the Rockies (ROAR) is hosting a local College Search Kickoff with over 30 colleges in attendance on August 26, 2025, 6:00 pm-7:15 pm @ Peak to Peak Charter School. Registration is required. Click here to register.

ATHLETICS
TRACK UPDATE: We are officially entering Phase IV of our track improvements. This is the phase where we start to see the turf replaced, landscaping done and the new track laid down. As this phase begins, please remember that the field and surrounding areas are an active construction zone. This means that this zone is off-limits to everyone. Please refrain from using the field or walking through the areas that are taped off. We appreciate your cooperation with this!
Sporting Event Passes and Tickets: PURCHASE TICKETS HERE
Student digital season passes will be offered this year in place of the activity pass. Student passes will be $20 and will need to be purchased each season. Season passes will only work for regular season home games, not away games, nor home playoff games.
Punch passes will be sold this year instead of family passes. The following is a breakdown of the savings you will receive by buying the punch passes. Punch passes will transfer from season to season for the 25/26 school year. Any punches not used at the end of the school year will not be refunded or transferred to next school year. Punch passes can be shared with friends and family. Punch passes are good for all regular season home games.

Save $0.25 per ticket/$2.50 total
20 Punch Pass - $130
Save $0.50 per ticket/$10 total

Volunteer Opportunities: We are in need of volunteers to help us run all of our home games. Volunteering at any of our athletic events grants free admission to that evening's games. Please contact Mrs. Chichirico in the Athletics office for more information.
FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY: Are you organizing a Junior High or High School Club, Organization, or Sports Team? Signing up to run the indoor or outdoor Fall Season concessions stand is an outstanding way to earn money for your programs and support JA Volunteerism together!
