Lesa Briggs, a financial aid educator, will lead a financial aid/FAFSA presentation and will be able to assist with any questions you may have.  This event is recommended for families and students in the Class of 2026.

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING SURVEY RESULTS

On September 24th, students took a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) survey by Panorama Education. This was a self-assessment in areas of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making. We use the results to guide workshops that our Student Support team can lead and lessons that can be integrated within the classroom by teachers. Our first workshop is designed for Junior High students and will focus on self-management and relationship skills. Students will be invited based on their survey responses. Both parent and student will receive an email next week with workshop details. We strongly encourage attendance so that students can have the opportunity to grow in the areas they have self-identified.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

SAVE THE DATE - Join us and bring your high school students to our Juvenile Justice Symposium on November 4, 2025 at 6:00 pm   Nearly two decades ago, Lara Baker created a presentation with the goal of combining her courtroom experience as a criminal trial lawyer with practical guidance for families about how to keep your kids out of trouble.  In that time, she has become a renowned and leading voice on issues related to juvenile justice and pitfalls for kids in the legal system.  Now, as a lawyer and a mom, Lara knows all too well the complexities of raising our kids in a safe, healthy environment.  Join us on November 4, 2025 at 6:00 pm, as she presents information about real life scenarios commonly confronting teenagers and families, including discussions around cell phones, social media, alcohol and sexual interactions at this event for the Jefferson Academy community!

Student Educational Travel-  There are still a few openings for the 9th and 10th grade April Science and Culture trip to Puerto Rico.  We would love to have you join us in learning firsthand about El Yunque tropical rainforest, the Bioluminescent Bay, the coral reefs, and the culture and food of Puerto Rico!  Please contact Ember Babcock (ebabcock@jajags.com) for more information.
