Last week, the Jefferson Academy high school cross country team participated in the 3A Regionals against some of the area's top teams. It was quite the day for the Jags!
As expected, the boys' filled the Top 10 with four finishers and took first place with 39 points. Junior Judah Wilson took 2nd place, edging out the third place runner from The Academy by two seconds. Senior Chase Wittman finished in 4th and the Sophomore Duo of Tony Thoutt and Grahm German finished in 7th and 10th, respectively. German's late push at the finish line propelled him past the 11th place finisher by five tenths of a second. 
The girls' fought hard and took 2nd place overall with 45 points. Senior Leyna Gibson took 5th place to lead the way for the Lady Jags.
