On Monday, April 6, JA’s Colorado History class, comprising students in grades 9 through 12, embarked on an educational tour of downtown Denver. The group visited several historic landmarks, including the Brown Palace Hotel, the State Capitol, and the U.S. Mint, gaining firsthand insight into the city’s rich history.
At the Brown Palace, students explored the Eisenhower Suite, once used by President Dwight D. Eisenhower before, during, and after his presidency. At the State Capitol, they observed the Colorado Senate in session as legislators debated a bill and had the opportunity to meet Broomfield’s state representative, Kenny Nguyen. The visit also included a meet-and-greet and photo session with Governor Jared Polis.
The tour concluded at the U.S. Mint, where students learned about one of Denver’s oldest institutions and the largest producer of coins in the world, rounding out a memorable and informative day.
